Players that want to maximize the efficacy of their Glyphs in Diablo 4 will need to put some amount of effort toward leveling them up. This is done by completing Nightmare Dungeons, and some maps are better suited for fast Glyph leveling than others. This guide is here to highlight some of the best options for quickly leveling Glyphs in Diablo 4, and players should make sure to clear the indicated maps when they receive an associated Nightmare Sigil.

Updated July 20, 2023, by William Parks: The available Nightmare Dungeons have changed with the launch of Diablo 4 Season 1, and players that played in the pre-season will need to adjust their Glyph leveling strategies as a result. This tier list has been updated in order to assist with that adjustment, and fans can find details on the best Season 1 Nightmare Dungeons for earning fast Glyph XP below.

Diablo 4: How to Level Glyphs Fast

It is first important to establish that the amount of Glyph XP that is awarded upon completing a Nightmare Dungeon is determined exclusively by the map's Tier. More specifically, awarded Glyph XP is equal to Tier * 2 + 2 for every Nightmare Dungeon in Diablo 4. This means that only one thing really needs to be considered when determining which maps are best for fast Glyph leveling, and that is how long it takes to complete the Nightmare Dungeon.

Indeed, the shorter the Nightmare Dungeon, the better it is for earning Glyph XP, and there are two maps that rise to the top when keeping that statement in mind. Those maps are Sarat’s Lair and Uldur’s Cave, and players that focus exclusively on reaching their ends as quickly as possible should find that they are both S-Tier for Glyph leveling. Notably, these are also some of the best Nightmare Dungeons for XP farming in Diablo 4, giving them value beyond the Glyph XP that they provide.

Below those two maps is a larger group of A-Tier Nightmare Dungeons, which take a bit longer to complete than the S-Tier options but are still quite fast. This group is composed of Dead Man's Dredge, Hoarfrost Demise, Iron Hold, Mercy's Reach, and Norstrava Deepwood, and fans should be quite happy whenever they receive a Nightmare Sigil in Diablo 4 for any of these dungeons.

With respect to the remaining Nightmare Dungeons, they are all less-than-ideal for Glyph XP farming. While these maps could be divided into the lower tiers, players that only care about leveling their Glyphs in Diablo 4 are advised to simply ignore the dungeons that are not listed above. That said, some of the unlisted Nightmare Dungeons, like Pallid Delve and Tomb of the Saints, are great for XP farming and should certainly not be considered completely worthless.

Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
