Gunfire Games releases a new update for the Xbox Series X/S version of Remnant 2, bringing about bug fixes and a couple of quality of life fixes. Since it's release in July, Remnant 2 has proven to be a big success thanks to strong critical reception as well as positive word of mouth from players. In just over a week after launch, Remnant 2 has sold over a million units, exceeding sales expectations and quickly doubling its predecessor's concurrent player numbers in the process.

Part of the appeal for players seems to be the mix of Soulslike gameplay, RPG mechanics, as well as plenty of secrets and loot to uncover as well. In fact, the game can be intentionally vague at times, pushing the player to experiment and discover things on their own, like the recently found Archon archetype which can be unlocked through datamining. Still, for all the positivity, Remnant 2 isn't a perfect experience and Gunfire Games has continued to release new updates periodically to address things like bugs and other issues.

The latest patch specifically impacts Xbox Series X/S players, as Update 1.0.0.9 for Remnant 2 features a couple of quality of life updates and a handful of big and performance related fixes. Specifically, Xbox players now have the option to toggle motion blur on or off as needed. Gunfire Games has also tweaked the player voice over lines so that the comments are toned down a bit more.

In terms of bug fixes, Gunfire Games has resolved four specific progression blocking issues including one related to the Nightweaver Web where players can offer specific items to recieve a reward. Some have accidentally offered items needed to complete quest puzzles, effectively soft locking the campaign, though this update will now place the item back in the player's inventory. Remnant 2 Ultimate Edition players will now receive the Gunslinger engram even if they choose not to start with the archetype at the start of the game.

The constant updates certainly go a long way to continue improving the overall experience, though there are some that are hoping for a few additional changes. Specifically, a group of players have been voicing their concerns over Remnant 2's difficulty scaling and the fact that it takes the combined gear level and class power into consideration when setting the difficulty of a zone. Some have fallen into a situation where a highly upgraded weapon can make things a bit punishing for those who want to experiment with new gear unless everything is kept at a similar level. As such, players have indicated that it reduces the ability to try out new gear unless it is upgraded to the player's level first.
