The dual boss fight against the Corruptor and Thaen Guardian in Remnant 2 is one of the possible main boss fights in the game's campaign. They may not be as difficult as some other mainline bosses, but the two of them together can definitely pose some problems.

Taking on the Guardian and the Corruptor is completely possible even as a solo player. With the proper loadout and a good understanding of how fights flow in Remnant 2, anyone will be able to breeze through this boss encounter without much issue. Here's a quick guide on how to beat the Corruptor and score the alt kill for it.

Remnant 2 Corruptor Boss Fight

The golem in the Corruptor boss fight in Remnant 2

The majority of this fight will pit players against the Thaen Guardian, the hulking, four-armed golem with detachable hands. The golem itself moves somewhat slowly, but the attacks of its floating sword arms can be a little tricky to dodge. Its arms can be shot down, and if players disable all of them, then the golem will be temporarily immobilized as it tries to repair itself. The Enigma is a very strong weapon for shooting the arms as it requires very little aiming, and it can hit multiple arms at once.

As for the Corruptor, it actually doesn't do much during the fight. Its main attack is a giant laser beam that will cover an entire lane of the arena and guarantee death to any player caught in it. This can be avoided by jumping onto one of the adjacent lanes.

Players can disable the golem by shooting the red stone on its head. Depleting its health will cause the Corruptor to hover above it and attempt to bring the golem back to life. In doing so, the Corruptor will expose its underbelly, which acts as a giant Weakspot. Use this time to deal as much damage as possible.

The flow of the fight is simple: disable the golem while jumping between platforms, shoot the Corruptor's weakspot, and repeat until the boss is dead.

Corruptor Alt Kill

Like other main story bosses, the Corruptor has an alternate kill method that will reward players with the Stonebreaker greatsword. To get this weapon, players will have to kill the Corruptor itself without disabling the golem by shooting its head.

This alternate kill method is very simple, yet it can be time-consuming. More importantly, it opens players up to more opportunities to fail as the Guardian hits hard on all difficulties. The best strategy here is to use the Enigma to shoot down incoming golem arms and use any primary weapon to damage the Corruptor every time it's safe to do so.

Players will have to pay attention to the golem so they don't get hit by its leap attack. It's best to pop a few shots at the Corruptor before swinging the camera back to the golem to see what it's doing. Also, make sure to stay near the stone stairs on the sides of each platform — players may not have enough time to dodge the Corruptor's laser beam if they stay too far away from the stairs.

Remnant 2 is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
