Diablo 4 has fixed the bug that allowed players to move their Eternal characters to the Seasonal Realms. Diablo 4 Season 1 began towards the end of last month, and it's been an eventful one already.

One of the most controversial decisions made by Blizzard prevents Diablo 4 players from bringing Eternal characters to Seasonal Realms. That means Diablo 4 players need to create a new character to interact with the seasonal content, and not use their leveled-up and better-equipped characters. But this changed when a major Diablo 4 bug emerged, allowing Eternal characters to enter Seasonal Realms. The exploit allowed characters to group and trade, leading to massive inflation in the game's market. In addition to transferring characters, gold, and items, Diablo 4's seasonal bug allowed players to insert Malignant Hearts into any socket.

Now Diablo 4 has fixed the exploit that made it possible to transfer Eternal characters to Seasonal Realms. Global Community Development Director Adam Fletcher revealed the information on Blizzard's official forum, confirming that the bug was addressed in the August 2 hotfix. In addition to making the fix ahead of the arrival of Diablo 4 Update 1.1.1, Fletcher revealed that Blizzard has taken action on accounts related to the incident, but gave no details. It's worth noting that Blizzard recently warned Diablo 4 players about using game-breaking software, with the risk of a permanent ban.

On Blizzard's official forum, users commented on the news of the seasonal bug fix, with one user thanking Fletcher for the update. Still, they urged developers to update players early and often. Another Diablo 4 player called for Blizzard to ban all accounts involved and not just select ones, saying that "this isn't an exploit that someone accidentally stumbles upon." A third comment criticized Blizzard's slowness to act against the seasonal bug, deciding to fix the issue only after streamers and YouTubers revealed the exploit. Diablo 4 has been haunted by bugs since launch, with some players dubbing Season 1 as the "Season of the Exploit."

With Diablo 4 Season 1 underway, Blizzard is continuing the routine of adjusting the game and introducing new content. Diablo 4 revealed the patch notes for Update 1.1.1, which will bring many changes. One of the main points is the change in the drop rate of Diablo 4's Legendaries, potentially making it easier for players to find better items. In the same update, Blizzard will try to redeem itself from another controversy and revert the cast time of Leave Dungeon after many complaints from players.

Diablo 4 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
