On Reddit, lots of players are complaining about the reduction in level scaling in some parts of the game and are begging Blizzard to bring it back. In a thread started by user XXLepic, fans are discussing the current lack of level scaling in many parts of the world ard arguing that it makes most content in the game irrelevant to them. A limited removal of level scaling, they claim, means that only Nightmare Dungeons reward a good amount of XP and there's now no reason for them to adventure in most region of Sanctuary. Level scaling in Diablo 4 has been a controversial and often confusing topic since before the game's release, and it seems that, even now, Blizzard is still struggling to satisfy everyone.

As it currently stands, level scaling is still present, but it ceases to keep pace with players in many parts of the world at higher levels. This means that, at lower levels, players who don't want level scaling are still experiencing it. Meanwhile, players at higher levels who want level scaling to keep the whole world playable are finding that it no longer works.

From the moment level scaling was announced for Diablo 4, it has been the subject of controversy. Some players have argued that having monsters continuously scale up to their current level removes the feeling of growth and makes leveling up more of a punishment than a reward. Others have praised the feature, arguing that level scaling ensures that all areas of the game can be explored no matter what level a character is. Recent updates, however, seem to be making no one happy. While Blizzard has announced a patch that will reverse some unpopular changes, it remains to be seen how it will ultimately deal with level scaling.

There are plenty of incoming updates that should satisfy most players. For example, it was revealed that Diablo 4 will see changes to Legendary Weapon drop rates, and this should be a popular development. On the other hand, it's hard to imagine Blizzard finding a way to please most fans regarding level scaling. At present, however, it seems to have landed on a system that is satisfactory to almost no one. Whether they take the advice of some Redditors and bring back full level scaling, or remove it entirely, remains to be seen.

Diablo 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
