  • A Zelda fan created a unique piece of armor for one of the dragons in Tears of the Kingdom that works defensively and offensively.
  • Tears of the Kingdom allows players to ride and explore the dragons, gaining useful items and stronger arrows by shooting different body parts.
  • While the dragon armor looks cool, it is not practical as it doesn't steer the dragon and the devices disappear if the player goes too far, but it's still an awesome spectacle.

An inventive Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom fan managed to build an amazing piece of armor for one of the dragons that works both defensively and offensively. As cool as it normally looks to see Link ride a dragon in Tears of the Kingdom, this video takes that experience to a whole new level.

One of the most jaw-dropping moments from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was when players first saw a dragon in the sky. There were three dragons in Breath of the Wild, Farosh (electricity), Dinraal (fire), and Naydra (ice). In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, these three dragons are back, plus a fourth dragon known as the Light Dragon. This time, players are no longer limited to viewing the dragons from afar, as Tears of the Kingdom provides many different ways for Link to take to the sky himself and land on any of them. Exploring the back of each dragon will provide Link with useful items, and players can shoot arrows at different body parts to receive even stronger ones. The four dragons are peaceful for the most part and provide the player with some of the most serene moments in the game.

Thanks to a video shared by Roththesloth1 on Reddit, which was previously posted on social media by _dadthatgames, the four dragons in Tears of the Kingdom don’t look as peaceful as they once did. In the clip, Link is seen standing on the head of the Light Dragon, with a makeshift helmet made out of Zonai devices already built around her. The camera spins around to show how cool it looks, and the Light Dragon appears to be okay with it. Then, Link uses the steering stick in the middle of the helmet to activate all of the attached weapons at the same time. A spectacle of cannons and flame goes off, making this dragon look even more majestic.

It may seem difficult to build this piece of armor on a flying dragon, but the process was most likely easier than it seems, thanks to the Zonai bubbles in Tears of the Kingdom. Once Link landed on the dragon, the player simply dropped a Wing, then built the rest of the helmet with some Carts, a Steering Stick, Flame Emitters, and a few cannons. They also made sure to attach plenty of batteries, to make the devices last longer.

As impressive as this armor is, it should also be noted that it’s not very practical. The Steering Stick activates all the devices simultaneously but does not steer the actual dragon. Plus, each device will disappear once Link gets too far from the Light Dragon. Players expecting to build this to attack enemies will be disappointed, but at least for a few minutes, they’ll look really awesome.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
