  • A creative player in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has built a fully functional camper trailer for Link using the Ultrahand ability.
  • Not many players have designed carriages in the game, as it doesn't require them, making the camper trailer even more unique.
  • The fan-built camper includes amenities such as a bed, kitchen, souvenir shelf, and outdoor shower, inspired by the creator's own experiences.

One crafty player has discovered yet another use for the building mechanics in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, having leveraged the Ultrahand ability to construct a fully functional camper trailer for Link. The footage of their cozy mobile home later made the rounds on social media, with many fans praising its creator for going through so much effort to engineer a unique horse carriage, which is something that not many Tears of the Kingdom players have done to date.

While the Ultrahand ability allows for some truly wild creations, the new Zelda game doesn't really force players to use it for anything but the simplest contraptions. And since driving or flying around tends to be much faster than riding a horse, not many players have so far bothered with designing carriages after finishing the quest to unlock Tears of the Kingdom's Great Fairies, which is the only major portion of the game that requires such vehicles.

That state of affairs makes the carriage camper built by Reddit user Dylan1234no that much more unique. Using mostly wooden boards and a couple of Zonai devices, this enthusiastic Tears of the Kingdom engineer managed to create a trailer that features all of the typical camper amenities, including a bed, kitchen, souvenir shelf, and even an outdoor shower. The fan explained that they wanted to build a real carriage camper akin to the one they use while traveling with their father so that Link always has a cozy mobile home nearby while exploring Hyrule.

As for the reason why the trailer's sole shelf is filled with mushrooms, Dylan1234no revealed that they utilized them as souvenirs because they remind them of their other parent who they haven't seen in a while. "My mother loves mushrooms," they explained.

The fan also went through the effort of putting together a detailed video overview of the camper, demonstrating how well the trailer works in practice by riding it around Tears of the Kingdom's map of Hyrule. Numerous players praised their heartfelt inspirations and engineering efforts, not least because elaborate carriage designs are such a rarity among Tears of the Kingdom community creations.

Anyone eager to build their own mobile home with Ultrahand should note that the game despawns most contraptions as soon as Link leaves their immediate vicinity, which could get in the way of camping role-playing, unless the player never lets the camper out of their sight. However, that limitation is fairly easy to sidestep by utilizing a previously discovered Tears of the Kingdom trick that massively increases vehicle despawn distance.
