A while back, Nintendo made it possible for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers to redeem profile icons as well as backgrounds and borders in order to make their own custom profile pictures. To promote the release of the new Zelda game, Nintendo released a special The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom custom icon when it first came out, and now it seems that a similar event is taking place once again.

How to Redeem Custom Icons

Just like all other custom profile icons, the Tears of the Kingdom icons are only available for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.

In order to redeem the custom icons, players must access the Nintendo Switch Online app - it's the red icon on the bottom left corner of the screen, by the notifications tab. Gamers have to enter the app using their own account and then scroll down to the Missions & Rewards tab. Here, they can redeem whichever icons, backgrounds, and borders they would like.

Each character icon costs ten Platinum Points, so players need to gather a total of 110 Platinum Points if they'd like to redeem all available icons. Thankfully, they can earn more points by completing weekly My Nintendo missions.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
