Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life takes players on a journey through moving to a new area and starting a family on their dad's old farm. There, they will make friends, discover secrets, and build their farm from the ground up with crops and animals. Of course, this story will seem familiar to fans of the original, but there are some key differences.

In the Harvest Moon title, players buy and breed animals for products such as milk, wool, and eggs. Forming friendships with the farm animals is vital to ensure they're producing the best quality products until they, unfortunately, die of old age. Many players wonder if Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life will doom animals to the same fate.

Do the Animals Die in A Wonderful Life Remake?

A Wonderful Life

Players are given limited spots in their barns to keep animals and are only given one expansion upgrade for it. In the original, A Wonderful Life, animals would age until they eventually died, and players would need to buy more. However, this is no longer true in the Story of Seasons version.

While farm animals age from babies to adults, this is as far as they go. This immortality does have some perks since players don't have to rely on breeding to maintain their farm's profit and can avoid the heartache of watching one of their beloved farm animals pass away.

However, they can hit a hard wall with gathering produce like milk if they have too many male farm animals. Male cows and goats do not produce milk but can be used to breed. Since animals don't die in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, there is a limit on how often players can breed until their barn runs out of space.

How to Get Rid of Animals in A Wonderful Life Remake

A Wonderful Life

There aren't many reasons to get rid of animals in A Wonderful Life outside of wanting different animals or only female animals. Especially since female goats continue to produce milk after one year, except for the first day of Spring. Still, farm animals don't have to have a permanent space on the farm if players don't want them.

Instead of waiting for animals to die of old age, players can now sell them using the Farm Ledger. The Ledger is what Takakura uses to track any farm upgrades, food orders, animal purchases, and animal sales. Players can select the animal they want to sell, and Takakura will take it into the city the next day.

A Wonderful Life

Animals sell for about half their buying price, so they fetch a pretty penny, and the money can be used towards replacing them with a more valuable breed or buying something else for the farm.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is available now on PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
