Pokemon GO offers multiple spawns running rampant in the wild openly. Among these various spawns is the Normal-type monster, Ditto. The Transform Pokemon can take the shape and attributes of other Pocket Monsters and disguises itself by rearranging the cell structure.

The monster is extremely tricky to catch since it leaves no traces while copying a target. One cannot be sure if the monster is a Ditto unless they actually catch it. But, Pokemon GO developers limit the Pokemon that Ditto can copy; the only issue is they regularly rotate the picks. Players need to figure out which monsters can potentially be a Ditto and embark on a hunting spree. This guide explores all potential Ditto disguises for the month of August 2023.

Updated on August 6, 2023: This Pokemon GO guide has been updated to include the new Ditto Disguises for the month of August.

How to Increase the Odds of Catching Ditto

Ditto, Pokemon GO

While catching a Ditto is already a 1 in 50 chance, Pokemon GO players can increase their odds by encountering as many pocket monsters as possible. The best way to do this is to use Incense or a Lure Module on a PokeStop or Gym. These items increase the amount of Pokemon that appear on the world map, meaning more encounters and chances to potentially find a Ditto.

One can also make use of the in-game item Incense and the Weather Boost function. Since its spawn rate gets boosted in Partly Cloudy weather, attach a Lure Module in a PokeStop or Gym with such condition, activate an Incense, and walk around that place.

It's also worth utilizing the Daily Adventure Incense, an item granted once per day that is active for 15 minutes and attracts Pokemon that aren't normally found in the wild. As long as the player keeps moving, Pokemon will continue to spawn for 15 minutes and, on occasion, can lead to some very rare creatures like the Psychic-Flying Galarian Articuno.

Pokemon GO is available for iOS and Android.
