There are multiple ways to find Shiny Petilil: in the wild, from 2 km Eggs, and through Field and Timed Research. Shiny spawn directly links to the original variant’s spawn rate; the higher the Petilil’s spawn rate, the quicker the players will encounter a Shiny Petilil.
Glittering Garden Wild Encounters: Shiny Petilil
The Glittering Garden event features several wild spawns during its run-time, and Petilil is one of them. Players must encounter multiple Petilil to catch up to its Shiny spawn rate. Players can use Pokemon GO Incense, Lure Module, and the Weather Boost function to achieve it.
Sunny weather can boost Petilil’s spawn rate, so players should shiny hunt around Pokemon GO PokeStops and Gyms with such conditions. Attaching a Mossy Lure Module to the PokeStop or Gym, activating an Incense, then walking around that area will maximize Petilil’s spawn rate. The more Petilil players encounter, the quicker they can spawn a Shiny Petilil.
Glittering Garden 2 KM Eggs: Shiny Petilil
During the Glittering Garden event, trainers can get Shiny Petilil from 2 km Eggs and bonuses like increased Stardust and Candy rewards. However, there’s no guarantee that other Pokemon hatched from these Eggs will be Shiny. The more Pokemon GO Eggs they hatch, the faster players can catch up to Petilil’s Shiny spawn rate and encounter a Shiny Petilil.
Glittering Garden Field and Timed Research: Shiny Petilil
Players can encounter Petilil through Field and Timed Research during the Glittering Garden event, providing them a chance to find a powerful Shiny Petilil. Although the Timed Research is free for all players worldwide, players need to keep in mind that it is a time-specific research that expires on August 8, 2023. There is only one step with five tasks in the Timed Research; completing the "Explore 5 km" tasks rewards players with a Petilil encounter. Players can also encounter a Petilil by completing the separate Field research task of "Catch 5 different species of Pokemon."
Shiny Petilil and Shiny Lilligant in Pokemon GO Fest 2023: Osaka and London
During Pokemon GO Fest 2023, players can encounter different Pokemon in different habitats. The “Fairy Gardens” habitat is around Expo ’70 Commemorative Park in Osaka and Brockwell Park in London. Petilil experiences a boosted spawn rate in this habitat, quickening the count to its Shiny spawn rate.
Players can also get the Shiny variant through 7 km Eggs. The GO Fest 2023 Event-exclusive Special Research’s 2nd step features two different tasks. How to get Shiny Lilligant in Pokemon GO
To get a Shiny Lilligant in Pokemon GO, players have to evolve a Shiny Petilil into a Shiny Lilligant. Evolving the monster requires 50 Petilil Candy and a Sun Stone. Players can get the Petilil Candy by catching, transferring, or walking with Petilil or Lilligant as their Buddy Pokemon. However, obtaining a Pokemon GO Sun Stone isn’t an easy feat. Players must repeatedly visit PokeStops and complete specific Research tasks to get a Sun Stone. Even after doing everything, they still might not get a Sun Stone.
