On July 19, HoYoverse released the Version 1.2 update for Honkai: Star Rail featuring new playable characters, events, and story missions. The recent update also marks the culmination of the Xianzhou Luofu story chapter as players prepare to head to their next destination on the Astral Express. HoYoverse confirms double Planar Ornament drops will be active in a new "Planar Fissure" event from August 2 to August 9 in Honkai: Star Rail. During the Planar Fissure event, players may receive double Planar Ornaments from the immersion device in the Simulated Universe. However, the number of daily double reward opportunities for Planar Ornaments is limited according to HoYoverse. Honkai: Star Rail players will be able to observe their amount of drops left for each day in the Planar Fissure Event page. After acquiring various Planar Ornaments, players may equip these equipment pieces to their characters to activate stat and special set bonuses.

World 3 of the Simulated Universe must be unlocked in order to participate in the Planar Fissure event. Players may unlock World 3 by completing the first two Worlds, reaching level 45, and finishing the "No Time for Me, My Friend" story mission. Once these requirements are met, Herta may notify the player when the World is available.

In Honkai: Star Rail, Planar Ornaments are a boon for team comps in high-level content due to their useful set bonuses. Players should take advantage of the double Planar Ornament drops while the event is active since it likely will not return until the next Honkai: Star Rail update arrives.

Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.3 is expected to release in late August with more new events and characters. The upcoming update may potentially introduce new Planar Ornaments, so a rerun of the Planar Fissure event could be beneficial for newcomers and veteran players alike. HoYoverse will likely share more details about Version 1.3 this month before the update is made available to fans.

Honkai: Star Rail is available now for Android, iOS, and PC. A PlayStation 5 version will release in Q4 2023.
