In Baldur's Gate 3, players will spend a lot of time exploring, adventuring, and fighting. The Camp is, therefore, a vital part of any player's adventure. The Camp allows players to heal, interact with their companions and other allies, and access their storage.

The Camp is thus a vital component of Baldur's Gate 3 gameplay, but players might find it a little tricky to work out how to leave, at a first glance. There is no obvious exit to walk to, and after resting players are returned to the camp rather than the location they were in before choosing to camp. This guide will explain how to enter and leave camp.

How To Leave Camp

Players can enter the camp at any time by choosing it from the fast travel menu in the map (accessed by pushing M.) Once in the camp players can interact with any companions they've recruited, allies that are traveling with them (like Scratch the Dog, for example), or visiting NPCs. They can also swap their party members around, access their storage, and head over to the bedrolls to have a long rest. Long rests require players to have sufficient supplies, though this is rarely an issue so far.

After a long rest players will be returned to the camp the following morning (sometimes conversations and cutscenes can be triggered by a long rest, and these will occur before control is handed back to the player) and its at this point that some player might notice there isn't an exit to walk over to.

This is because players have to exit the camp the same way they entered it, by using the fast travel menu from the map. The topmost option, which is usually the camp option, will instead read "Leave Camp" and return the party to wherever they were before they entered camp. Players can instead travel to any of the other fast travel locations to leave camp instead, if they don't wish to return to the location they were in previously, which is useful when grabbing loot from the camp to take to a trader and sell.

Accessing the Camp for a long rest can be incredibly useful during longer journeys and when exploring dangerous areas, and the ability to return to the location they left from allows the party to utilize the camp's utilities without needing to backtrack.

Baldur's Gate 3 launches on the 3rd of August 2023 for PC and Mac, and the 6th of September 2023 for PS5.
