Trying to carry every single item in Baldur's Gate 3 is a great way to get encumbered and, eventually, pass up on items. Gamers can give heavy pieces to other characters in the party but then they will become encumbered and won't be able to carry more.

There is storage in Baldur's Gate 3 in the form of the Traveller's Chest but it has an 'Exclusive use: Public' label that may make gamers believe this equipment can be shared with the entire community. That's a bit misleading so players can learn about how to use the Traveller's Chest properly here.

At any time, players can select an item in their player inventory and send it to the Traveller's Chest by choosing the 'Send to Camp' option. This will keep the load light until ready to deal with it. Unlike some games, players do not have access to their storage while out and about, so prepare to come to camp and retrieve anything that needs to be used or sold before leaving camp.

The Traveller's Chest is in the southwest portion of the map.

When playing with friends, everybody can loot this chest, which is what the 'Public' label means, not that anybody who plays the game has access to the chest. Most gamers trust their pals but be wary of putting anything valuable in there when grouping up with strangers.

There are some items that are only useful while in camp, such as rations and camp supplies. Feel free to send these back to camp and keep them in the Traveller's Chest for the remainder of the game, they will not be necessary at any other time unless players want to sell them for some quick cash (which is not recommended).

Baldur's Gate 3 is available in Early Access on PC and will be available on August 3rd, 2023. The PlayStation 5 version will be available on September 6th, 2023. A version for Xbox Series X/S is still in development.
