While Baldur's Gate 3 is still in Early Access, players can still delve pretty deeply into this Dungeons and Dragons story. One of the major things players can do this early in the story is to start romancing one of their many companion characters.
Currently, there are a total of seven characters that players can build a romantic relationship with; most likely, there will be more options once this upcoming RPG is no longer in Early Access in August 2023. In order to romance these characters, players will have to be careful about every single one of their choices in the game. Of the seven romance options in Baldur's Gate 3, four of them are currently available in Early Access, and just one is complete.
Astarion
- Gender: Male
- Race: High Elf
- Class: Rogue
Astarion's Baldur's Gate 3 class and race are high elf and rogue, as well as a vampire. Players will meet him in the very first chapter, and he is available for them to romance. Players will need to make sure to get on his good side by letting this silver-haired companion drink the main character's blood. He appears to be one of the four companions that are romanceable in Early Access.
Gale
- Gender: Male
- Race: Human
- Class: Wizard
Gale is another Baldur's Gate 3 companion that will join the player's party in Act 1. This kind-hearted human sage will be all about any player who is willing to help out animals, including the owlbear cub and Scratch the dog. Gale is romanceable in Early Access.
Karlach
- Gender: Female
- Race: Asmodeus Tiefling
- Class: Barbarian
Apparently, this vicious, demon-slaying Tiefling has a bomb for a heart, quite literally. Players will need to be careful when romancing this character, as she might just literally explode. There is currently no romance scene for Karlach in the game.
Lae'zel
- Gender: Female
- Race: Githyanki
- Class: Warrior
This Githyanki soldier is cursed, but she is doing whatever she can to cure herself. Players will meet this talented warrior in the prologue, and she is one of the four companions with a romance scene currently in Baldur's Gate 3.
Minthara
- Gender: Female
- Race: Drow
- Class: Paladin
Minthara is both a potential boss battle for players in Baldur's Gate 3, or they can have her as a companion. She is a Drow Paladin and can command an army of Goblins. In order to begin to capture her heart, players will need to betray Zevlor and join Minthara's hunt of the Druids Grove. Minthara's romance path is the only one not under construction; there are some pretty racy scenes if players choose her.
Shadowheart
- Gender: Female
- Race: High Half-Elf
- Class: Cleric
Shadowheart is yet another romanceable RPG character that has a romance path available in Early Access. Players meet her in the prologue, and there are several times she can be recruited to the player's team.
Wyll
- Gender: Male
- Race: Human
- Class: Warlock
Wyll has lost his soul in a bargain with demons in order to become a legendary hero. He is looking for a way out so that he can save his soul and maybe romance the main character while he's at it in the lengthy RPG Baldur's Gate 3.
Baldur's Gate 3 is currently available in Early Access for PC.
