Other times in Baldur's Gate 3, it's just a sweet moment that gamers can take with them. After an attack by Timber when first meeting the irritated squirrel, gamers can end up with mutual respect between the two parties if they interact with the little gal carefully.

This article divulges consequences within the game and reveals information the player's character may not know. Gamers that are committed to role-playing may wish to stop reading and find these things out for themselves.

Befriending Timber

Baldur's Gate 3 Step One Of Befriending Timber
  1. Study the creature's behavior (pass a Nature check).
  2. Scold her with a click of the tongue (pass an Animal Handling check).

While players do need to establish some respect, kicking Timber kills her. She gets plunked into a tree and, if Astarion is in the group, he'll note that Timber is now in many pieces. The dialogue is hilarious, so players who want to dispense of Timber should switch the party up to have Astarion in it first. But it does spell the end for poor Timber.

Have somebody who can handle Nature and Animal Handling checks deal with Timber as these checks come consecutively. After succeeding the first check, the character can Intimidate Timber but this will not result in a friendship.

Baldur's Gate 3 Step Two Of Befriending Timber

When playing with friends, a friend can step in and handle these. The second check may sound standoffish but it's just establishing that the player and Timber will need to share the area in a language that Timber understands. After a salute from the Timber, the character and the squirrel are now pals.

Baldur's Gate 3 is available in Early Access on PC and will be available on August 3rd, 2023. The PlayStation 5 version will be available on September 6th, 2023. A version for Xbox Series X/S is still in development.
