Filled with riddles, puzzles, and a variety of unique monsters, Gunfire Games' newest release Remnant 2 is a Soulslike enthusiast's dream. In the sequel to the hugely popular Remnant: From The Ashes, players will dive into multiple worlds and dimensions that will each be ripe with their own distinct challenges to overcome.

In the forest-like world of Yaesha, players have their musical skills tested as they are tasked with playing the water harp to progress through Remnant 2's main story. While they are, on the surface, tough riddles to crack, players will discover that the answers may very well be right under their noses. Here is how to play the right tunes to restore the bridge and earn the Carnage in C-Minor achievement.

The Water Harp Puzzle

The Water Harp puzzle from Remnant 2

In order to complete the Water Harp puzzle, players will first need to continue exploring Yaesha to find their way to the lever that releases the waterfall to operate the harp. To do this, players will need to pass where they encounter Meidra, and continue along the path to her left. After overcoming some enemies, a doorway will appear to walk through.

Players need only follow the path to find the lever that releases the water before continuing along the path to the right of the entrance, which will open a previously locked door. As the checkpoint appears, players should consult the table next to it and open the book laying there. On the first page of the book is the correct combination to play the Water Harp's song. The horizontal lines indicate that no note is being played.

In order to enter the correct combination, players will need to approach the harp and enter the following peg alignment, going by row. Pegs are referred to by their positions from left to right.

  • 1st row: Fifth peg
  • 2nd row: No peg
  • 3rd row: Fourth peg
  • 4th row: No peg
  • 5th row: Third peg
  • 6th row: Fourth peg
  • 7th row: First peg
  • 8th row: No peg

Once the correct combination is entered, players will pull the lever to the left, which plays the song and raises the bridge to the other side.

The Secret Song (Carnage in C-Minor)

Players looking to complete all the achievements in Remnant 2 will need to play an additional secret song to earn the Carnage in C-Minor trophy. Unlike the main puzzle, this song does not have a written clue to guide players, but an auditory one.

To tick off this objective, players will need to replicate the song played by the Flutist after the Ravager quest has been completed. Despite there only being five note options (six, if skipping a note is included), this can be quite tedious to replicate. For those hoping to reap the rewards of a keen ear, here is the combination for the secret song:

  • 1st row: First peg
  • 2nd row: Fourth peg
  • 3rd row: No peg
  • 4th row: Second peg
  • 5th row: Fifth peg
  • 6th row: No peg
  • 7th row: Third peg
  • 8th row: No peg

Once the song has been completed, players will be able to collect the Bolt Driver handgun in front of the Water Harp. For an extra reward, the Flautist will present the character with a Scroll of Binding if they visit the musician after the song is played.

Remnant 2 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC
