Remnant 2 has a wide variety of dungeons that are, in one way or another, all feel unique from each other. The Imperial Gardens in Yaesha stands out with its Root-infested landscape and the subtle, head-scratching puzzles that players won't even know exist unless they look closely enough.

Thankfully, the puzzles in the Imperial Gardens aren't too complicated. They will, however, require a lot of patience from players as there's going to be a ton of walking involved. Here's how to get all the important loot in this part of Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 Imperial Gardens: How to Get the Crossbow

Symbol spawn locations in Remnant 2 Imperial Gardens

The first puzzle players will likely notice is related to the Crossbow, a returning weapon from the first Remnant game that's just as strong as it was before. This weapon is hidden inside one of the main structures in the middle of the map, and players will need to crack open the Imperial Garden Plinth in order to get to it.

Players who have gone through The Lament will know exactly what to do here—find four symbols, align them on the Plinth, then open it up to unlock a door. In this case, it's going to be a hatch that leads to the lower level.

The four spots indicated on the map above show the possible spawn locations of stone markers that display the symbols needed to unlock the Plinth. These symbols will change from instance to instance, so take note of them before going back to the main building at the center. Once the hatch is open, raid the room to get the Crossbow and a chest full of resources.

Imperial Gardens Bell Tower Puzzle

The second puzzle in the Imperial Garden is a lot more subtle. In the far corner of the map, players will see a bell tower standing in the distance. Go here and up the elevator to find a ring, then head back down to ground level. Once there, step on the elevator again to cause it to ascend, then immediately roll backward.

As the elevator is ascending, players will notice large, blue symbols on the shaft. Move a fair distance away from the tower to notice four different symbols along the tower's face. Take note of the symbols, then walk through a fake wall between the first set of stairs leading back to the elevator.

Enter the four symbols into the Plinth in the hidden area to unlock the door in front of it. Inside is the Blooming Heart, a Relic that spawns healing orbs that players can pick during a fight.

How to Beat Mantagora

The Momentum Mutator in Remnant 2

Though technically not a puzzle, the Imperial Gardens does have a boss in the form of Mantagora, a giant, flying manta ray that lobs explosives at players. Unlike traditional Soulslike bosses, this monster will not attack players until it gets attacked first.

Mantagora can be seen flying underneath the Imperial Gardens. Sometimes, it will also fly above it and toward the giant tree near the beginning of the map. Shoot it once to trigger the fight, and just keep shooting it until it falls. The problem with Mantagora is that it's incredibly tanky, and it tends to fly outside the effective range of most weapons.

The best way to go about this boss is to find it early and gradually chip away at its health while exploring the dungeon. This will keep players from running out of ammo since there will still be enemies to hunt on the map.

Beating Mantagora rewards the Momentum Mutator, which causes critical hits to increase the user's critical hit chance and critical hit damage.

Remnant 2 is available July 25 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
