Remnant 2 is chock-full of secrets to find. Some are tucked away in quests and hidden passageways, while others are hiding behind a simple, locked container. The Morrow Parish contains one particularly good example of the latter, and players will be hard-pressed to find the code's location.
The combination for the Morrow Parish safe is cleverly hidden where players will least expect it. Thankfully, the code doesn't appear to change between playthroughs, meaning Remnant 2 players who want to open the safe without finding the code can do so with the help of a guide.
What is the Morrow Parish Safe Code in Remnant 2?
The combination for the Morrow Parish safe is 2971. Players won't need to do anything else—just input the code to release the lock and open the safe. This will reward them with the Double Barrel, a shotgun for the secondary weapons slot that uses handgun ammo.
For those who are curious, the safe code isn't written on the walls or any of the books strewn about the asylum. Instead, it's in the lyrics of a song sung by Dr. Marrow, the lead medical expert in this dark, Bloodborne-esque world who has since been locked in the basement by her clinical staff. Players can hear her sing the following verse when they run past her cell:
“Two shiny copper teeth removed from nine discarded combs, and seven yellowed leaves excised from one forgotten tome.”
By taking all of the numbers in the verse together, players will get the code 2971. If the doctor doesn't sing the song, players may need to find all three of the hidden Stone-Carved Dolls within the asylum and give them to her. They should avoid unlocking the door though, as doing so will cause her to disappear.
How Good is The Double Barrel?
The Double Barrel acts like the typical sawed-off shotgun. Its pitiful range is offset by its ability to lay down massive bursts of damage every two trigger pulls. The Double Barrel may not be able to reach targets that are too far away, but its powerful kick makes it an excellent backup weapon for close quarters.
The Gunslinger is the best Archetype to use together with the Double Barrel because of their Sidewinder skill, which automatically reloads weapons every time players swap to them. Players can pair this shotgun with another high-burst weapon like the Crossbow, Widowmaker, or Twisted Arbalest and constantly switch between them to negate their loading times.
The Challenger and Hunter work well as secondary Archetypes for the Double Barrel since they both have perks that increase the weapon's damage output. The former also comes with extra damage mitigation while the latter extends the Double Barrel's Ideal Range stat.
