Players will be forced to make an endless amount of decisions in Remnant 2, but few have a bigger influence over the game's environment than the choice between the Ravager and the Red Doe. When players encounter the world boss in Yaesha, they meet the notorious Ravager and a wounded Doe, and are challenged by the relentless hunter god to choose between slaying the deer or going toe-to-toe with the ravenous beast.

The choice that players make in Remnant 2 between the Ravager and Doe has significant implications over the balance in Yaesha and, on an individual level, it will impact the rewards a player can earn for their choices. For those who want to consider both options before deciding, here are the possible outcomes for this quest.

Option 1: Ravager (Killing The Doe)

The Corrupted Ravager from Remnant 2

Players who complete the Water Harp puzzle and enter the Ravager's Lair will have a conversation with the beast as it walks them towards the helpless and injured Doe, who the Ravager describes as a lie and the last of the Old Order. With promises of mastering all aspects of transient life, the Ravager commands the character to slay the beast and put an end to its influence over Yaesha.

Those who choose to do the Ravager's bidding will see an abrupt end to the quest, making this the easier choice as far as gameplay is concerned. Given its injured state, the Doe does not resist as the player brings its life to a swift end. The result sees the Ravager roar in celebration and gift the player the Ravager's Mark and a Strange Object, which can be used to open another world door in Labyrinth.

The main prize from the quest, the Ravager's Mark, is an amulet that players can use to harness its special abilities. With this item equipped, damage dealt to bleeding targets is increased by 20%, which increases to 30% if the target has less than 50% of its total health.

Option 2: Doe (Reviving The Doe)

For those who want to rescue the wounded animal, prepare for a fight. By approaching the Red Doe and interacting with it, players will heal the gentle giant, allowing it to regain mobility. This will then trigger a cutscene that sees the Doe charge straight at the Ravager, catching it off-guard, and breaking one of its antlers in the beast's gut. This will enrage the Ravager, who turns to the player to take its revenge as the Doe makes a swift getaway.

A tough boss fight will ensue that will see the Ravager use a range of different abilities to get its vengeance on the player for the betrayal. However, players who are successful in the battle will be rewarded with the Doe's Antler, which can be turned into a Red Doe Staff, by visiting McCabe in Ward 13. Players will also be able to see the Red Doe alive and well again as they traverse through Yaesha again.

Regardless of what players decide, a world boss will be defeated, which enables them to unlock another world door. Additionally, they will receive a powerful artifact that they can harness on their journeys. The decision comes down to which item is preferred, and whether players have the heart to put the defenseless deer out of its misery.
