After inserting the Faelin and Faerin Mural Pieces into the large circle in Remnant 2's Palace Courtyard, players will gain access to both the Beatific and Malefic Galleries. In these locations, fans will find Faelin and Faerin, bosses that insist that their counterpart be killed. Remnant 2: Should You Kill Faelin or Faerin
The primary things to consider when deciding whether to kill Faelin or Faerin are the items that are earned through each approach. Indeed, while Soulslike fans will receive a weapon and a ring in both instances, the specific items that are awarded are contingent upon on which imposter is dispatched. Here are details on those items:
Kill Faelin (Beatific Gallery)
- Faerin's Sigil (Ring): Critical and Weak Spot Hits generate 10% additional Mod Power.
Kill Faerin (Malefic Gallery)
- Faelin's Sigil (Ring): Melee damage generates 10% additional Mod Power.
As players are sure to note, killing Faelin in the Beatific Gallery awards items that primarily benefit ranged builds, while slaying Faerin in the Malefic Gallery awards items that primarily benefit melee builds. As such, the best choice is entirely contingent upon a fan's preferred playstyle and archetype in Remnant 2, and they should consider those two facts when deciding which approach they will take.
One final thing to mention is that players will not immediately receive these items upon slaying an imposter. Instead, fans of third-person shooters will receive a crafting material (Imposter's Heart or Melded Hilt), which Ava McCabe in Ward 13 can combine with some Luminite Crystals and Scrap in order to create the associated weapon. And with respect to the rings, those are obtained by speaking with Faelin or Faerin after their counterpart has been dispatched.
Remnant 2: How to Switch Between Faelin and Faerin
For the sake of full clarity, a few words on how to switch between Faelin and Faerin's locations may be pertinent. Quite simply, pulling the lever that is in the center of the mural in which the Faelin and Faerin Mural Pieces are placed will cause the large circle to spin. If that light half of that circle is pointed toward the door, then passing through the portal will take fans of dark action RPGs to the Beatific Gallery and Faelin. And if the dark half of the circle is pointed toward the door, then it will lead players to Faerin in his Malefic Gallery.
