Tal Ratha is a boss in Remnant 2 that players will encounter at the end of one of the two main scenarios that can occur on N'Erud. Before fans do battle with this boss, they must make a choice, and the reward that they receive at the end of the fight is contingent upon their selection. This guide is here to provide more details on that connection, and it will help players resolve the Tal Ratha choice in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2: Tal Ratha Choice Rewards

The choice that Remnant 2 players must make when interacting with Tal Ratha centers around if they will let the boss eat them, and here are the two possible outcomes:

If a player agrees to be eaten by Tal Ratha, they will battle the Tal Ratha (Metaphysical) boss in Remnant 2. Upon defeating this foe, fans will receive the Acidic Jawbone, a crafting material that McCabe in Ward 13 can use to create the Gas Giant melee weapon.

Uh, No. Thank You.

If a player refuses to be eaten by Tal Ratha, they will fight Tal'Ratha, and this battle is easier than the one with the boss's metaphysical variant. At the end of this fight, fans will receive the Spiced Bile crafting material, which McCabe can turn into the Nebula handgun.

With respect to which option a player should choose, the Gas Giant is likely the better item overall. That said, having the ability to keep enemies corroded in Remnant 2 is not without use, and fans that do not frequently engage in melee combat may want to give Nebula a try. Players can also simply play through this N'Erud scenario a second time if they ultimately want to have access to both weapons.

To note, players will receive the Shining Essence Echo after beating either variant of Tal Ratha, and there is yet another choice associated with that item. More specifically, the Shining Essence Echo can be given to the Custodian on N'Erud in order to obtain the Siphon Heart relic (on use, grants 10% of base damage dealt as Lifesteal for 10s.). Alternatively, fans can give the item to the Drzyr Replicator, which is accessed by dropping into a hole behind a statue near the Custodian, in order to obtain the Void Idol, an amulet that increases Reload Speed by 20% and effectively halves the amount of ammunition that is required to reload a weapon in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 is available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
