The Nightweaver is one of the main bosses in Remnant 2's campaign, and she can be quite a problem, especially for players who are new to the series. This ghost is every bit as intimidating as her appearance suggests, and it all gets dialed up to 11 once she enters her second phase.

Players who are squaring off against Nightweaver for the first time in Remnant 2 might struggle with beating. Her attacks are somewhat hard to predict, and she's got a few tricks up her sleeve that can catch players off-guard. Nightweaver isn't impossible to beat, however, and even those facing her as their first major boss can send her packing back to the abyss she crawled out from.

Remnant 2 Nightweaver Boss Guide

Phase 1 of the Nightweaver fight in Remnant 2

Nightweaver's first phase is actually the easiest and least threatening part of this boss fight. All of her attacks here are predictable and easy to dodge (except for one), and players can focus on getting enough bullets into her chest to trigger the second phase of the fight.

The speed of Nightweaver's ice projectiles is incredibly slow — so slow that players don't even need to dodge away if they're far away enough. Not only does this conserve stamina, but it gives players more time to fire off some extra shots. However, the projectiles do track a bit, so sprinting to the side might be the best option when avoiding this attack.

The most threatening of the boss' moves in this phase are her lunging melee attacks. This comes in two variants: a charge attack with arm swipes and a lunge with a delayed tail swipe. The timing on the latter is very difficult to get but regardless, both attacks can be dodged by rolling toward the boss. Just keep in mind that these are followed up by a ground slam move that has a deceptively large range.

Out of all the tactics we've tried, the one that worked best is to stay at a fair distance away to force Nightweaver into using her projectile attacks. Use upgraded weapons with damage-dealing mods to burn her HP as quickly as possible. Once she goes down, the hard part begins.

The Second Phase

Nightweaver will teleport players into the asylum, and she'll start fighting more aggressively than before. In this phase, the boss will make heavier use of melee attacks mixed with her signature, slow-flying ice projectiles that are much more dangerous now given the tighter quarters.

Fighting her in the main lobby is highly recommended since it has the most space for dodging. More importantly, the free space will keep players from getting grabbed through the walls or mobbed by exploding bugs. A secondary weapon like the Enigma is very useful against her suicidal minions.

Nightweaver attacks more frequently here, but they are all fairly easy to dodge. Players just need to be careful of her grab attack that leeches health and her ice ball/leap combo. Both can kill players instantly, and they can be tricky to dodge at first.

The best strategy here is to stay in the lobby and wait for her to reappear. Consider using a secondary weapon with the Scrap Shot mod to significantly reduce Nightweaver's mobility.

Nightweaver Alternate Kill

Shooting Nightweaver's heart in Remnant 2

Nightweaver can be a bit tough to beat but doing so rewards players with Nightfall, an automatic rifle with a mod that grants infinite ammo and lifesteal. Those who want to get the Nightshade claw weapons will have to fight Nightweaver again and pull off her alt kill.

To do this, players need to literally break Nightweaver's heart. Whenever the boss summons exploding insect pets, she opens her chest cavity and exposes her heart. Shooting it inflicts Weakspot damage, and putting enough rounds into it will cause her to glow blue.

Defeat Nightweaver while her heart is broken, and she will drop the Nightweaver's Finger item, which is used to build Nightshade. Keep in mind that getting hit by her grab attack in the second phase will restore her heart and force players to break it again. When fighting indoors, she only exposes her heart whenever she's spawning bugs while latched onto the ceiling somewhere in the mansion.

Remnant 2 is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
