Stacking bleed-related effects was one of the go-to options back in Remnant: From The Ashes. The fact that such a build could slaughter every enemy in the game with ease was borderline overpowered. In Remnant 2, players can get almost the same build going by equipping Twisting Wounds, a Mutator that's all about making blood flow.

While a full-blown Bleed build might not be as strong in Remnant 2 as it was in the first game, it's still a powerful option. Players who love experimenting with loadouts will want to get this Mutator under their belt, especially those who are looking to score those high damage numbers. Here's how to get this Mutator.

How to Get Twisting Wounds in Remnant 2?

Like much of the other Mutators in the game, players can get Twisting Wounds by defeating a Corrupted mini-boss (otherwise known as Aberrations). Particularly, players need to hunt down the Grime Crawler, a giant pig-dog monster found in either the Butcher's Quarter or Cotton's Kiln in Losomn. Either of these areas can appear in Morrow Parish, Ironborough, Brocwithe Quarter, and similar hub-style maps.

The Grime Crawler's special arena is very noticeable yet, like many of this game's secrets, it is also easy to overlook. Players should look for a large crater with a visible purple item on an exposed sewer tunnel. There is an L-shaped corridor near this crater that leads to this sewer segment. Go down the platforms and follow the path. Players will eventually reach the purple item (which is the Shiny Hog Lure ring) and a ledge that acts as a point-of-no-return.

Drop down this ledge to enter a small network of tunnels, then interact with the wheel near the sewer gate to trigger the Grime Crawler boss fight. This boss fight isn't exactly complicated, but the claustrophobic arena definitely makes it harder than it has to be. Players will have to rely on crowd-control mods or perfectly-timed dodges to keep Grime Crawler from bulldozing them. Be careful, as extra monsters might spawn while the fight is ongoing.

Taking down Grime Crawler automatically sends Twisting Wounds to the inventory of every player involved in the fight. The boss also drops Corrupted Lumenite Crystals, which are needed to upgrade Mutators.

Twisting Wounds increased the Ranged Damage of weapons against targets that are Bleeding. When fully upgraded, it causes all Critical and Weakspot hits to apply Bleeding, making it a self-sustaining damage buffer that synergizes with every other effect in the game that works against enemies afflicted by Bleed and status effects. It pairs nicely with certain amulets like the Ravager's Mark and the Chains of Amplification.

Remnant 2 is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
