Players will encounter a variety of keywords throughout their time with Remnant 2, and while many of them are easily understood, that is not always the case. Bulwark, for example, is a keyword that some fans may be confused about, and there is no in-game glossary that can be used to alleviate that confusion. Fortunately, Bulwark's effect in Remnant 2 is fairly straightforward, and players can find details on it in what follows.

Remnant 2: What is Bulwark

Quite simply, Bulwark is a buff in Remnant 2 that grants damage reduction. More specifically, the effect provides 5% damage reduction, and it can stack multiple times. Third-person shooter fans that are looking to create a character that is capable of tanking are thus advised to take advantage of all opportunities to apply the Bulwark effect, as building up damage reduction will greatly increase their survivability.

To note, it is actually possible to view details on active status effects in-game. To do this, players should simply open the Character menu and hover over the active effect in the top-left corner of the screen. While fans that have read the preceding paragraph will not need to use this method to learn about the Bulwark buff, they may find it useful if they encounter more unclear effects while working to beat Remnant 2.

Remnant 2: How to Get Bulwark

The easiest way to gain multiple stacks of Bulwark is to play the Challenger archetype in Remnant 2. Indeed, the Challenger's Level 5 Skill, Juggernaut, immediately grants three stacks of Bulwark, giving the character an additional 15% damage reduction for 25 seconds. This close-combat-focused class can also get two stacks of Bulwark for 10 seconds through its Relic Perk, Face of Danger, by using their Relic within 10 meters of an enemy.

Players do not need to use the Challenger archetype in order to gain Bulwark, though, as there are several items that grant the buff. Here are details on those items, and Soulslike fans that want to give their characters the ability to sustain an assault may want to incoporate them into their builds:
