Hawezar is traditionally the final zone in Diablo 4, as it's the main zone for Act 5 and 6 and doesn't scale with players' level until around level 40. Hawezar is split between the hostile dunes of the south, lush jungles in the northwest, and bewitching Hawezar Swamp in the northeast, home to the Tree of Whispers.

Zarbinzet is this zone's main hub, conveniently located right next to the zone's World Boss arena. By the time players reach Hawezar, the end of Diablo 4 is in sight, but players will become all too familiar with the Hawezar map thanks to the Whisper Cache system. But even beyond the swamp and its many mysteries, there's plenty to do to reach full completion of the Hawezar Map.

Updated July 20, 2023 by Erik Petrovich: As the last zone in the game that most players typically see, Hawezar tends to be last on players' list of the Diablo 4 zones when it comes to hunting down map completion marks. Altars of Lilith, Waypoints, unveiling the map itself, Strongholds and Dungeons, and side quests are all tied to zone completion in Diablo 4. Now, players can look to the bottom of this guide to completing the D4 map of Hawezar to find an easy-to-reference image of the starting points for every quest in the zone. Full completion of the Sanctuary map cannot be attained without finishing the quests in Hawezar, so be sure to get a head start while finishing Act 5 and 6, and return later on after revisiting the Fractured Peaks, Scosglen, and Dry Steppes.

All Altars of Lilith in Hawezar

Altars of Lilith are important to collect because they grant a ton of power to players, though the incremental bonuses might not seem like much in the moment. By collecting all 160 Altars of Lilith in Diablo 4, players can get a permanent boost to their main stats, Paragon Points, and Max Obols on all characters. Once found, they don't need to be found again, and alts will benefit from the stat boosts from Level 1.

The total number of Altars of Lilith in Hawezar is 34, and of all the maps in Diablo 4, the Hawezar Map might have the most even distribution of Altars. There's not really a "fastest" way to collect all of these except to start from either entrance and work your way around the map, skipping the northwestern stretch that is devoid of Altars entirely.

Hawezar Map Dungeon Locations

Dungeons in Diablo 4 are different than dungeons in previous Diablo games. No longer do players explore a fully-randomized layout, nor do the descend through levels (and loading screens) to get to different areas of a dungeon. Instead, each Dungeon has a specific objective, enemy types, and only a semi-randomized layout. However, they are one of the game's most important side objectives thanks to Nightmare Dungeons being tied to Glyphs, and the Aspects they reward upon first completion.

There are a total of 23 side Dungeons in Hawezar, and luckily a lot of them are clumped pretty close together. In the very center of the map, at the Ruins of Rakhat Keep, players will find three right next to each other. The same is true just south of the Crusader's Monument, and just to the west of Zarbinzet there's a cluster of five or six that make for easy Aspect collection.

All Strongholds In The Hawezar Map

All area maps in Diablo 4 are home to three Strongholds, no more, no less. Though each Stronghold rewards a chunk of Renown and oftentimes a Waypoint, some Dungeons are also only accessible once an associated Stronghold has been downed. Strongholds can only be completed once (for now), so it's a good idea to save them for World Tier 4 because of the forced +2 level difference, which grants more XP.

The three Strongholds in Hawezar are the Crusader's Monument to the west, Eriman's Pyre in the northwest, and Vyeresz in the south. Completing the Crusader's Monument is necessary to access the Bastion of Faith, Eriman's Pyre must be beaten to access the Oblivion dungeon, and Vyeresz must be completed to access the Shadowed Plunge.

Where To Find Every Hawezar Waypoint

Waypoints in Diablo 4 should be a player's main priority in tackling each of the game's five zones. They make getting around Estuar much, much faster, and they give a little bit of a boost to Renown as well – 20 apiece, to be precise.

Like Kehjistan, there are fewer Waypoints in Hawezar than the Fractured Peaks, Scosglen, or Dry Steppes, numbering just six in total. They are placed pretty evenly across the whole zone, so completing the Hawezar map can be made much more efficient by prioritizing these Waypoints over other objectives first.

Hawezar Cellar Locations

Cellars dot the landscape of Sanctuary in Diablo 4 as short, one-room side adventures that players can take on. Most of the time, Cellars simply make players defeat a horde of enemies for a regular Chest as a reward, but what exactly players face inside a Cellar can be randomized, to an extend. Events with Mastery rewards are common, too, and there's even a chance for special spawns like Treasure Goblins to appear instead of an encounter.

There are a total of 29 Cellars in Hawezar, the majority of which are found within a minute's ride of the coastline that stretches across its southern and eastern borders. It's not a bad idea to start from the entrance from Kehjistan and head east and stay about a screen away from the coastline until you reach Backwater.

This should reveal most of the cellars on the way. Then, head north and zig-zag through the Swamp, then head west to finish up near the entrance to the Fractured Peaks.

World Boss Arena Location in Hawezar

There are five areas where World Bosses in Diablo 4 can spawn, one for each of the game's five major zones. Ashava the Pestilent, Avarice the Gold-Cursed, and Wandering Death spawn about once every six to seven hours in real-time at one of these five locations, highlighted about half an hour beforehand in-game. Players who want to get the weekly Grand Cache for killing all three should consider joining the official Diablo 4 Discord for spawn notifications. Third-party trackers like Helltides.com or Diablo4.life can be equally helpful in keeping an eye on spawn times.

The World Boss location in Hawezar is actually one of the game's most convenient, located just a short ride southeast from Zarbinzet. Called the Fields of Desecration, the Hawezar World Boss area is also surrounded by Altar of Lilth, Cellars, and other side content for Hawezar map completion – and it's a great starting point for both Altars of Lilith and Cellars in Hawezar, too.

Unique Bosses In Hawezar Map

All maps in Diablo 4 are home to four elite, uniquely-named bosses with a little bit of backstory implying some kind of regional importance. These enemies function like other elites but will always spawn in the same area and drop the same loot – their Rare item drops have flavor text, unlike most Rares in Diablo 4, and will roll on the same stat modifiers each time. With good rolls, these serve as excellent bases for Aspect imprinting.

The four unique bosses in Hawezar are Enkil, in the northeastern Rotspill Delta, Captain Willcocks in the Blightmarsh, the Trembling Mass in the central Fethis Wetlands, and Renn Dayne, in the northwestern Dismal Foothills.

All Side Quests in Hawezar Map

Diablo-4-All-Side-Quests-Map-05

Side quests in Diablo 4 are useful for a number of reasons. For one, players can be rewarded with Caches full of materials and other goodies upon completion. Plus, in addition to Gold and XP, players also get a chunk of Renown. Completing side quests will be paramount in completing the Hawezar map Renown bar, so be sure to plan out a decent route around the zone to pick up these numerous quests.

RELATED: Diablo 4: Hidden Quests And Where To Find Them

Hawezar has almost 50 total side quests for players to complete, across several very different areas that comprise the zone. The swampy north is home to side quests on the witchy nature of the swamp, while the Backwater of the southeast provides a completely different tone to the areas closer to Zarbinzet.

No matter where players go here, there's something to find, but typically it's best to start from Zarbinzet and work one's way around the map in a counter-clockwise direction, to eventually end up picking up the last straggler quests near the border of Kehjistan.

Diablo 4 is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S
