Werewolf builds for Druids tend to have the fastest playstyle out of all the other options for this class in Diablo 4. These come in a few different flavors, from poison-based ravaged to lightning-slinging shapeshifter and, of course, the up-close-and-personal fighter.

Shred may be a weak ability compared to many other Core Skills in Diablo 4, but it becomes a real force to be reckoned with once players get all the right gear and Aspects to support it. This particular Werewolf build is designed for Level 50 characters and above, and it's strong enough to push through those early Nightmare Dungeons and every other combat encounter in the open world. Here's how to set it up.

Primal Shred increases the skill's crit damage while also letting players dash from target to target, greatly increasing their clear speed. Due to Shred's weak AOE, the build uses Natural Hurricane to help clear trash mobs faster.

Grizzly Rage with the Dire Wolf Aspect is the star of this show—it locks players into their Werewolf form for a short duration while granting a number of stat bonuses. Keep in mind that Hurricane and Earthen Bulwark will be unusable while this ability is active.

The build's playstyle revolves around spamming Shred to teleport around the map while slapping enemies to death. Blood Howl and Earthen Bulwark will keep players alive while they wait for Grizzly Rage to go off-cooldown, and Storm Strike will top their Spirit up with its high base Spirit generation.

Werewolf builds rely on high attack speed and critical strike effects to deal the most damage. The setup aims to take advantage of that by investing in all Werewolf-related nodes, including the poison-based Envenom and Toxic Claws skills to maximize DPS.

Lupine Ferocity is the best Key Passive here since players will basically be casting Shred all the time. This results in more crits, which translates to more poison procs that grant even more crit damage.

The Spirit Boons listed above will increase the player's crit damage and attack speed even further while also extending Grizzly Rage's duration. Masochistic and Wariness will help keep players alive when fighting elites.

Edgemaster

Dire Wolf turns players into a Werewolf whenever they use Grizzly Rage. When this Aspect is slotted into a 2H weapon, it can potentially reduce Shred's cooldown to zero. Combine this with the Aspect of the Rampaging Werebeast to extend Grizzly Rage's duration while also gaining movement speed and crit damage.

Use Blood Howl with Nighthowler's Aspect to trigger crit-related passives, and make sure to keep the Spirit bar topped off to get the most out of Edgemaster. Stormclaw is here to fill in for Shred's low AOE damage.

Players will want to stack as much crit chance as they can get, so they can make use of the passive skills listed above. Cooldown Reduction is also important in order to reduce the downtime of Grizzly Rage.

Paragon Board

In the starting board, take Impel and Prime for extra damage, then insert Exploit into the Glyph Socket for guaranteed Vulnerable procs.

Afterward, attach the Lust for Carnage board for its bonuses to Werewolf damage and attack speed. Insert a level 15 Fang and Claw Glyph here for even more damage while in Werewolf form.

Next, attach the Inner Beast board for more Shapeshifting and attack speed bonuses as well as a Legendary Node that's good for resource management whenever Grizzly Rage is on cooldown. For the Glyph Socket, Intelligence Glyphs like Guzzler and Undaunted are great here.

Ancestral Guidance makes for a good third board thanks to its bonuses to Spirit generation and Core Skill damage. Its Legendary Node isn't bad either, but it might not work when Grizzly Rage is active if players have a max-roll Dire Wolf Aspect.

From here, feel free to experiment with other boards or spend points into more damage and survivability nodes.

Diablo 4 is available now on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5.
